Happy New Year!!!

Welcome to our new subscribers to the first Kids 'n' Music newsletter for 2010. Here's hoping that you all had a great Christmas and New Year and are getting ready for all that 2010 brings! I know that we have been very busy setting the wheels in motion for 2010 and I am already exhausted (as well as very excited!) just thinking about all the new adventures that have started filling up the Kids 'n' Music schedule! ♫ NEW!!! You Gotta Get Up 4 now available!!!

The latest Music Book and CD from the You Gotta Get Up series has now been released. We had several  delays with both the book and CD production and we will finally be able to fulfill everybody's backorders of the final YGGU 4 CD by the beginning of the new school year. ♫ Essential Early Years Conference, WA - Jan 30th, 2010

Presenters : Maggie Dent (Resilience Building Blocks), Leonie Cecich (Kids 'n' Music), Sue Hodges (Brain Gym), Sue Gamba (Yoga)

This one day conference will focus on building awareness, understanding and practical skills for those who work with young children to better prepare our children for school, and later life. It will offer a stand alone day of professional development at the beginning of the year so that child carers, teachers and allied professionals can have an opportunity to upskill and reinvigorate themselves before children begin the school year. There will be a focus on addressing the 5 outcomes of the National Early Years Learning Framework during the day. For those who work with children under 8 years of age.

Kids 'n' Music has been accepted to present at two conferences in both Victoria and Canberra and I will be presenting new material from You Gotta Get Up 4. ♫ Rainbow Ring/Tactile Ring Ideas Booklet

Many people that have bought one of our fantastic Rainbow Rings or Tactile Rings (made by my friend Heather Birnie in NZ!) often ask what else they can do with the ring. I emailed all my colleagues that use one of the rings in their work with children and then collated their ideas into the Rainbow Ring/Tactile Ring Ideas Booklet. If you have any other ideas that are NOT listed in the booklet then please email me with your ideas/suggestions/activites and I will include them in the next edition!

Hello to all our Kids 'n' Music subscribers!

Welcome to the very first e-newsletter from Kids 'n' Music. Yes - it has taken me this long to learn how to 'drive' the new technology that the fabulous Claire (from Zeta Tech) has designed and set up for me! So - a huge thank you Claire for being patient with me over the past couple of years - and for helping me to achieve my dreams! Professional Development Music Workshops

We have several new Professional Development Music Workshop dates for Semester 2, 2009. The workshops will cover songs from each of the books in the You Gotta Get Up series including brand new songs from You Gotta Get Up 4 due for release late September 2009.  

Sessions will be held at Herb Graham Recreation Centre in Mirrabooka. Price is $60 per person. Each workshop is two hours in length. Workshop Notes, Certificate of Participation and a cuppa will be provided. WACOT will recognise a Kids ‘n' Music Professional Development Certificate if the content of the session is relevant to your teaching field.

Music Classes

Our Music Classes for 0-4 year old children continue to be well received and most of them have wait lists! We have opened up many new locations. Current locations can be found on the website. We are always in need of new Educators to run classes, so if this is an area that interests you - please contact us! Also see the Training Section below for more information!

Kids 'n' Music Educator Training

We are excited to be holding our first Kids ‘n' Music Training sessions! These sessions has been designed for people who would like to attend a more intensive training session on material from the You Gotta Get Up series by Leonie Cecich. Further your own personal music education goals or explore the opportunities that are available to join the fun and funky Kids ‘n' Music team! 

11th-13th September, 2009 Training Weekend (YGGU 1, 2 & 3) 

31st October, 2009 Taining Workshop (YGGU 4)

On a final note, it has been an amazing year for both Kids 'n' Music and myself. I must thank three amazing ladies - Jen, Jenny and Phia - for all their help 'behind the scenes' in the office with all the organising of paperwork - and for organising me when I needed it!!!
